We had a small electricity problem here for about 10 minutes, so I decided to hit the Ovi Store in search of something useful. What I found was an app called QTorch, which turns my N8 into a sort of a flashlight. This is one of the more useful apps out there, since a flashlight on your phone can become very useful. Especially here in Finland it is pretty dark in the winter, so this will come in handy. http://store.ovi.com/content/55378
On an unrelated note I managed to get through all of the Angry Birds levels. All I have to do now is try to get 3 stars (maximum points) in all of them. No clue what will happen then, hopefully something at least.

Keypad lock

What is one of the biggest problems with smartphones? With me it seems to be the keypad unlocking itself in my pocket. So far I haven't called anyone by accident, but I think it might happen one of these days. SlideUnlock works in a similar way as with an iPhone, in which you have to slide your finger across the screen to unlock it. I use this as a sort of backup keypad lock, since after I unlock the keypad in the traditional way I get the SlideUnlock. It does seem a bit weird to unlock the keypad twice, but I think it is useful since it is pretty much bullet proof and the keypad cannot unlock itself inside my pocket. This is a useful program for anyone who is afraid that their N8 might call someone by accident. http://store.ovi.com/content/47631

N8 Review
I have now had my N8 for three weeks, and it is time to list some of the positive and negative things I have come across.
Positive
Camera
The 12MP camera was the main reason I bought this phone, and it did not disappoint me at all. It is easy and fast to use and the quality of the pictures is just outstanding considering they are taken on a phone. The panorama feature I mentioned before also brings a little bit of extra fun into the picture.
Battery
I was surprised by the time the battery keeps on going. I was expecting to recharge the phone every day even with normal use, but I have managed to use it for about two to three days without recharging. This is with my normal use, a little bit of playing games, reading emails and updating my facebook status.
The feel of the phone
The phone just feels extremely good and strong in my hand, since nothing on the outside is made of plastic. The screen is known to be super strong and is not going to break in normal use, and of course it looks absolutely amazing. For the record I have the dark grey (black) one.
Negative
Speed
It has been said in many other reviews as well that the speed of the Symbian^3 might not be enough the handle the phones needs. I have experienced this a few times when the phone just does absolutely nothing for many seconds, and then starts working again. This could get quite annoying, but luckily my N8 isn't doing this too often. Sometimes when opening up a lot of stuff at once the phone just freezes. I have had to turn it off once because it froze completely.
Random Errors
My phone has turned itself off twice during the three week span that I have used it. The first time I thought I accidentally turned it off, but after the second time I was sure that it wasn't me accidentally pushing buttons. I have no idea why this happened, but it did. Both of these times happened during my first week with the N8. The N8 has also once asked me to insert a SIM card, while the card has been inside the phone. This lasted for about 20 seconds, and then it found the card again. I took the SIM card out and put it back in and this problem has not occurred again.
All in all I have been very satisfied with the N8, since it is a huge step forward from my previous phone (Nokia N95). The fact that also pleases me with every Nokia phone is how easy they are to use, and how well engineered they are. Every option works smoothly and with ease. Of course I must note that I have not used other smartphones for long periods of time so I cannot compare the N8 to them, but for me this is all the smartphone I need. The ovi store has also been a positive surprise, and it just keeps getting bigger and bigger with every day that passes by.

Speed Tester Touch

This game is all about how fast you can move your fingers, and eventually also about having a good memory. The memory part is crucial, since the further the game progresses the faster the colors appear and you are forced to push the correct buttons simply out of memory. It is an addictive game, but also gets boring pretty quickly. But despite this I still have to play it every once in a while. It's free, and here is the link http://store.ovi.com/content/12855
My current records stands at 201.

Need For Speed Shift
Electronic Arts and Nokia are offering the new Need for Speed Shift for free at the Ovi Store. http://store.ovi.com/content/55867
The file size is just over 81 megabytes, but it was a really fast download since I usually have an extremely fast internet available on my phone, regardless of where I am. The game seems to be quite fun, considering that it is a car game for a phone, which usually aren't that good. The best feature by far is the steering, which happens by tilting the phone to the left or to the right. This makes driving extremely accurate and can lead to some tough races. The drift feature gives a little bit extra fun for gameplay, and there are certain tracks just for drifting.
Being part of the Need for Speed franchise means that you will be able to upgrade the performance and visual aspects of your car. Buying new cars is also naturally part of the game.
All in all it's a good car game for a phone, but playing it in a public place may seem a bit weird, since you have to tilt the phone alot in tight corners. But there is a way of controlling the sensitivity of the screen tilting, which makes this problem dissapear. I don't know how much longer this game will be downloadable for free, so I suggest you download it as soon as possible.

Angry Birds
This game is AWESOME! I have been playing it for two hours now, and seem to be stuck. This is by far the most addictive game for a phone I have ever played. Of course it makes me even more proud, being finnish, that it was developed by finns.

The game can be bought at ovi store for 3€, and is definately worth the money.(http://store.ovi.com/content/61009) The whole idea of my new phone is to keep me busy in places where I get bored quickly, for example trains, busses, planes etc. This game is simple, quick to play and easy to use. It is the perfect game for waiting at bus stops, since it doesn't require a lot of time to open and to play a single level.
This is probably the most fun I have ever gotten out of spending 3 euros.

The N8 Panorama
Everybody knows that the N8 has an epic camera, and that it can be used to take extremely cool pictures. At the ovi store you can also download a panorama software for the N8, and I have to say is a pretty fun piece of software. With the help of the software the user takes multiple pictures in certain angles, and then the software forms a panoramic picture. The user can decide how wide the picture will end up being.
It is free to download, and I suggest everyone downloads it. I visited London this past weekend and took a few panorama pictures with my N8. Here is the one I took at the London Tower.

As you can see some people appear multiple times in the picture, but other than that I think it's absolutely brilliant! When taking pictures with the panorama I think it is better to just film landscapes instead of places where people move around alot. Here is the link to the panorama application: http://store.ovi.com/content/51690?clickSource=search
I will be taking a lot more pictures and sharing them with you, but for now it is time to unpack from the trip to london and getting back to everyday routines!
